Vanessa Kleeberger — Certified Health Coach

Northwest Ohio is my home — but it hasn’t always been.

I came to live in rural Toledo (Metamora, OH) after a journey that spans the coasts of America (I do love the ocean, after all). Southwest Pennsylvania was my childhood home and Pasadena, California was my greatest adventure. However, no matter where I’ve lived, one passion has stayed the same.

Helping people live as healthily as possible.

It began with my understanding of the importance of food which came from living in a rural, rustbelt town, but was also made evident from the physical and mental debilitation I witnessed in the world around me.

This took me to the University of Mount Union where a desire to understand health, the body, and the mind led me to a degree in Exercise Science and Psychology.

I got married, moved to California, and had our first child (unexpectedly, I might add). After some health and exercises stints, I came back to Ohio where I found the beauty of raising my children a wondrous joy. I continued to learn much about eating and exercise, but also about the mental and social effects of a person’s health.

My goal is to take everything I’ve learned and experienced over the past 15 years of my scholastic and professional work and share it with you.

Together, we can become the healthiest versions of ourselves.

What is Health Coaching?

VK Health & Wellness follows an Integrative Health Coaching model.

The goal is to nurture self-discovery through goal setting by having a trained guide with knowledgeable expertise provide the information and the accountability to catalyze you to fulfill a healthy vision for your life.

This is not just about weight loss.

This is about the healthiest version of you. I view health through the lens of the whole person to provide a proactive health plan for your entire lifestyle — behaviorally, mentally, emotionally, and physically. From habits to body image, stress and anxiety to daily movement, your healthy coaching experience aims to care for every part of your life so as to foster your holistic health.

We’re In This Together — Interpersonal Guidance

If information changed people, we’d all be the perfect size with millions of dollars. But information doesn’t change people, experience does. Anyone can do a google search for the latest diet and fitness trends. Maintaining a practice of nurturing your health needs something more. That’s why I’m here. To provide the counsel, perspective, accountability, and motivation to help you positively enact your goals.

But the information is tricky, too — not everything on the internet is accurate. That’s also why I’m here. I have done the hard work of understanding the body and the mind, physiology and psychology, diet and nutrition, exercise and lifestyle habits so that you don’t have to.

I don’t know everything and I’m always learning, but I seek to take what I know and personalize a plan unique to your specific situation so that you can exponentially achieve your purpose for your context. I’m not just giving advice, I’m aiding your potential as a person and walking with you the entire way.

Even when people are informed and motivated, they often fail to maintain health-related behavior changes. A dedicated health coach is the answer.

Who Health Coaching Isn’t For:

  1. Those with serious health conditions — while health coaching can help you actualize medical requirements, if you are having serious health issues, please consult a doctor before beginning a coaching program.

  2. Those that don’t want to do the hard work — a health coach is not a magic pill. You are embarking on a difficult process which may be uncomfortable at times. Though I can’t do the process for you, I will be here to help you along the way.

  3. Those who are experiencing success on their own — listen, I’m not here to trick you and take your money. You honestly may not need it and you should not feel bad for that. But if you fall into a rut, don’t feel like you’ve failed, either. It’s okay to get some help to get you going again!
